About me
Ellaine B. Miller, PhD, is a nationally recognized, award-winning leader and expert in the field of early care and education and a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. Ellaine serves as the Program Director of the Troup Trauma-Responsive Community Collaborative and the President of the National Association for Family Child Care. Ellaine’s experience in Early Care and Education began in her graduate school experiences assessing teacher-child relationships, preschool peer relationships, and quality environments. Prior to coming to coming to the Trauma Collaborative, Ellaine served as the leader of Training Delivery and Development at Think Small, Director of Family Child Care programs and Assistant Clinical Professor at Auburn University, Assistant Director of Early Care and Education programs for the Central West region of Georgia with Quality Care for Children, and has facilitated collaborative efforts on behalf of child care educators at the local, state, and national levels playing key roles in systems model development and the promotion of family child care as a viable and important part of the child care community. Ellaine is passionate about social justice issues, family child care, and equity matters. This work has spilled over into work with many non-profits including Habitat for Humanity, LaGrange Dream Team, and Health People (to name a few) where she has won numerous grants and supported affordable, sustainable decent living in her community. When she is not working on behalf of children, families, and early childhood educators, she enjoys reading crime novels and Stephen King books, embroidery, and spending time with family while rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs.
