Amber McKeen, MSW, MPH is a Senior Risk Consultant at Praesidium specializing in working with private and independent K12 schools. Her passion for abuse prevention runs deep, spending nearly her entire professional career over the last 16 years working to prevent child abuse in various capacities.
Amber began her career working with youth in juvenile detention centers to increase their employability skills and improve well-being following release. She then spent over six years creating and delivering multidisciplinary trainings, engaging in research, forging community relationships, and informing policy change as the Child Abuse Prevention Trainer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She engaged in research and program implementation on topics such as foster parent training, commercial sexual exploitation of children, and utilizing first responders to prevent child physical abuse in communities. Most recently she co-authored a publication with a team of researchers at the CDC entitled Preventing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse in Youth Serving Organizations. Amber has planned and provided dynamic training to nearly 40,000 professionals across hundreds of live and online events.
Amber truly believes in Praesidium’s mission to prevent abuse of children and vulnerable adults and enjoys working with schools to find dynamic solutions to foster a culture of safety.
