About me
Ashley Richards is an experienced early childhood educator who has taught in Georgia and South Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina and began her career with Georgia Pre-K. After feeling a calling to help "big people" in a "big way," she transitioned to the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (GA Decal). In 2023, Ashley was named Teacher of the Year at Douglas Elementary School and won the Spirit of Decal Award in 2024 for her exceptional customer service. She has spoken at early childhood conferences and is passionate about supporting educators, stating, “Big people need support, encouragement, and healthy challenges just like our children.” Ashley lives in Trenton, SC, with her Army veteran husband, Patrick, and their four fur babies: Punkin, Trusty, and Bentley. In her free time, she enjoys listening to audiobooks and rock hunting.
