About me
Claire Kirkland, LCSW is the Director of Anti-trafficking and Outreach Services and forensic interviewer at SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker over a decade of clinical, forensic and case management experience working with children. Claire has conducted close to 1000 forensic interviews for various state and federal law enforcement agencies, with an emphasis on CSEC (trafficking) forensic interviews. She has testified as an expert witness on interviewing, trauma and abuse in multiple courtrooms in Georgia. As the former Liaison for the CSEC Response Team and the Receiving Hope Center, Claire worked to conduct forensic interviews and coordinate investigations for trafficked youth. She has been trained in multiple forensic interviewing protocols to include: the entire ChildFirst series, Cornerhouse, FIND Advanced, several FBI forensic interviewing trainings, and multiple CSEC forensic interview trainings. She is a Certified Crisis Response Team Responder through the National Organization of Victim Advocacy. She understands the complexities of navigating through the various systems we work with and the importance of coordinating with stakeholders. Claire enjoys working with graduate schools and mentoring new clinical social workers. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, working in her yard and being creative.
